So Yeon Ryu (LoPro Collection and SciFlex) began the Monday finish in the U.S. Women's Open chasing clubhouse leader Hee Kyung Seo (Women's DryJoys and StaSof).  Seo grasped the 3-under par clubhouse lead Sunday evening before play was suspended.  Ryu, one stroke back, had 3 holes to make up a one shot difference.  After pars on the first two holes, Ryu hit a brilliant 6 iron from 170 yards to 6 feet.  She drained the putt to force a playoff against Seo.

The playoff was set for the three holes Ryu just played to finish her final round, "It was a big benefit for me to play those playoff holes early Monday morning to finish my forth round," Ryu later said of the playoff holes.  She took advantage going par, birdie, birdie to win the playoff comfortably over Seo.

Seo, gracefully accepted defeat, "I feel very happy that a South Korean player won this great, big tournament."

This is So Yeon Ryu's first LPGA Victory.

Got to watch some highlights just a little bit ago. seems like it was an entertaining finish.

A lot of talent in the LPGA ranks right now, kinda exciting to watch again.

It's tough to stay focused when you're playing in an event with so many stops and starts. Good win for Ryu -- it's her first on the LPGA, and I believe she's won on the Korean Tour. It was nice to see leaders in all the tournaments last weekend wearing FootJoys!
