I posted on the blog yesterday about what a great looking shoe they were...I'm very impressed and wondering if there is a date yet for when they will be in stores...I don't see that posted anywhere here on the website.

Chris92009:

Chris, these are very cool looking shoes...Congrats!

What type of golfer are these being target at?  It seems like a younger audience...

Also, what price point will these MSRP at ?

Thanks, keep up all the great work at FJ!

Hi Chris,

These should hopefully appeal to a younger audience although, personally, I think they're a great shoe to wear with shorts no matter what your age. The all black and all white are conservative enough for the older audience while the new graphics and outsole still add a little flair.

In terms of the cost, as of now the SRP is listed at $135 and availability is February, 2010.

Thanks for your comment. Hope this helps.

Chris

Chris,

They look great

  • Are they waterproof or resistant
  • do they allow for orthotic inserts
  • stability (how do they compare with synr-g)
  • any other factors relating to orthotic support

PS The TechSof socks are the best. They seem to actually help my plantar fasciitis

bholley,

Thanks for the questions.

  • FJ SPORT will come with our 2-year waterproof warranty.
  • They have a removable fitbed so do allow for orthotic inserts.
  • Since SYNR-G is the most stable shoe in our line, they will be less stable than SYNR-G but will still offer a great balance of comfort, stability and style.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thanks,

Chris

In the original blog by Chris, they say the release date is February 2010 (USA).

Chris -- We all can see how slick the color schemes and outer design look -- absolutely fantastic.  But could you let us know about the fit/performance of these?  What last are they made on?  How light are they?  How do they compare with the LT Series from a couple of years back ?  How do they compare to the Adidas Powerband? (I ask that last one b/c I saw on Facebook that some people are comparing these to the Powerband aesthetically.)  What's "under the hood" that makes this a unique product?  Thanks!

Great looking shoes. Should give the competition out there a run for the money. When we first got a snaek preview from 19hole they looked pretty good. Now they are going to be a front runner for FJ and bring in the younger set of golfers. Nice going FJ and all the designers who made the shoes.

I really really like these shoes, I may be older - 43 - but still think I will be in the market for them...maybe its my youthful appearance that makes me think i can wear these -- :)

You just answered several of my questions. I had wondered about the pricing range and warranty. That is going to be a real top-notch seller to the younger set who like this style of shoe. Those 2 items are a sure winner with the price right and warranty like that. Way to go FootJoy.

our rep brought the new FJ SPorts by the other day.  They look even better in person.  We ordered most of the colors and I think they are going to be a big hit.  They will bring a whole new audience into the FJ brand

Nick, If you can, keep us posted on how they are selling once they come out. I too think they are going to be a great seller for FJ, especially for the younger set, and even some of the older guys who want tht style of shoe. Eagle

What's that become retail?  $100-110.00ish?  Either way the cookie crumbles, they seem very reasonable for most players or someone who wants a quality product without paying the cost of ICONs or Classics (if you can still get your hands on them).
