Thinking of traveling to the USGA Museum. Has anybody been? If so, any recommendations on how much time to spend there or things not to miss? Already planning to tour the research facility and spend some time in the library.
Have you made it out yet. I was curious, especially since it's that close to me. Maybe I take a ride out there.
I too look forward to making a visit one day.
Let us know how it is when you go ... Thanks !
Where is it? We have a Jack Nicklaus museum that Ive been meaning to go to, but havent gotten around to it yet.
I haven't made it there yet either. I'm interested to hear what those who have been say about it. May be a good 3 day weekend trip.

The USGA Museum is located at 77 Liberty Corner Road in Far Hills, N.J., near the intersection of I-78 and I-287. The Museum is a 30-minute drive from Newark Liberty International Airport, and approximately 45 minutes from New York City.

too far from Columbus for me. Guess I will have to wait
I bet the jack nicklaus museum would be awesome to visit.
I've never been to either...let us know how they are if anyone has ever attended.
I made the trip to Far Hills, NJ to experience the USGA Museum, Research and Testing Facility. It was the highlight of a fun trip that I won't soon forget. The complex is situated on a gorgeous piece of 80 acre property in horse country on top of a hill. There is enough lawn to sit on under the shade of trees to eat lunch on a nice Spring day. The ever courteous staff greeted me warmly and sent me on my way to the Research and Testing facility escorted by a security guard. An extremely knowledgeable scientist greeted me and led me on my own private tour through the actual place where the USGA tests golf balls, clubs, shafts and any other golf related item for conformity. Amazing, interesting and like Shangri-La for a golf fan like all of us. I was face to face with the new and improved Iron Byron, as well as the old original one. I witnessed tests that I didn't even know existed all in an impressive complex that I could spend days in. I didn't want to leave but after the tour ended, I bid the scientist a farewell and told myself that I would one day return for another visit. Did I say it was amazing? I made the long walk back past the practice putting green, which you can make a reservation for, to the Museum to tour the exhibits and rooms on golf they have for display there. I took a look in the research library which, by the way, is behind locked doors. I bought a few souvenirs and I was on my way. The USGA is incredible for what it does for the game. I am proud and honored to be a member.
This would be a great weekend for that visit to Jack's Museum.

Did you get a chance to make it out there this weekend?
No, too far a trip for me I think.
I'd love to see the place, but NJ is a bit out of my way. If you guys get down to FL (Disney, etc), swing out to the east a little wide and stop by this one too. Very cool place...
