The rule that I see violated most often at our club is if you hit a ball OB, too many people play it as a lateral hazard - 2 club lengths and drop. The main reason is they do not want to go back and re-hit from their original place (which I respect from a pace of play perspective). My response is to hit a provisional and then determine if your original ball is OB or not. Bottom line - know what the different colored stakes mean (red, white, yellow).
