I have three pairs of ICONs with which I wear orthotics that are stiff plastic and go from the heel to just forward of my arch.
When the shoes are new, I wear them as is because they are just so comfortable, but my lower back reminds me to use the orthotics.
The ICON insoles are so comfortable and durable, with the leather and whatever that other fabric is, that I perform "surgery" on them so that they end up almost flat. I peel off the harder black plastic, then shave off the remaining abnormalities with an exacto knife. See picture below.
The other benefit is the great feel under the front part of my foot - much better than any flat insole I can find.
I'm wondering if there's any way FJ can make these insoles available in a flatter format so they can be inserted on top of three-quarter orthotics.
I can't be the only one looking for this, can I?
I wonder whether this could be an addition to the myjoy line of customisation?
